Safety heat exchangers
Areas of use and application
The use of safety double pipes is recommended for applications with high operational risk or severe environmental hazards.

Safety heat exchangers with double pipe systems
The double pipe consists of two individual pipes connected by expansion. One of the pipes is equipped with the necessary cannula system. In the event of a pipe defect, the escaping leak fluid can be drained off via this cannula system and used to trigger a warning signal. In the event of a pipe rupture, there is no mixing of the media; the heat exchanger remains operational for a period of time sufficient to allow appropriate repair measures to be taken. Double-pipe systems are used in finned tube, lamella tube, and smooth tube systems in both element and tube bundle heat exchangers.
Safety heat exchanger with double plate
These special plates are only used when there are special requirements for operational safety.
The safety double plate consists of two individual plates that are interlocked with their embossing and welded together at the passage openings.
The two media involved in heat exchange are thus separated from each other by a double wall per channel.
This prevents the media from mixing in the event of a wall leak.
In the event of a defect, the medium flows through the unpressurized safety chamber between the double plates.
