Element heat exchanger

Areas of application

Cooling systems with finned tube and lamella tube heat exchangers for a wide range of applications:

  • Air recirculation cooling systems for electrical machines.
  • Water recirculation cooling systems for cooling circuits.
  • Oil coolers for lubricating oil or turbine gear oil.
  • Transformer oil coolers and cooling systems for power plants and electric locomotives
  • Process heat exchangers for process engineering.

The performance parameters, construction, and design of the heat exchangers are carried out according to the customer's requirements and the operator's specifications.

Cooling system with finned tubes

The following are used:

  • Single finned tubes with extruded fins.
  • Finned tube connection by dip tinning or dip galvanizing.
  • Single finned tubes with wound fins.
  • Finned tube connection by foot soldering or laser welding.
  • Single fin tubes with extruded fins.

These systems are preferably used for operation under high mechanical stress or for cooling moist gases with condensation.

Due to the permanent connection between the fins and tubes, the fin tube design guarantees consistent heat transfer performance even under high mechanical or thermal loads.

Cooling system with compact fin tubes

The fin and tube are connected by tube expansion.

The system is used for high-quality mechanical engineering under stationary operating conditions.

High-strength fins are used, which extend continuously across the entire block width. The following corrosion-resistant fin materials are used as standard:

  • Aluminum alloy (AlMg3).
  • Copper (CuZn0.5).
  • Stainless steel (1.4306 or 1.4571).

The thickness and strength of the fins guarantee a permanent connection between the fins and tubes and offer high protection against mechanical damage.

Design and construction

  • Pipes made of corrosion-resistant materials:
  • Copper, special brass, copper-nickel, stainless steel, titanium.
  • Material for connection chambers and pipe bases:
  • Steel, cast iron, stainless steel, special brass, copper-nickel, bronze, red brass, titanium.
  • Coating of pipes, pipe bases, connection chambers:
  • Epoxy resin, Rilsan, tar epoxy, Säkaphen.
  • Pipes rolled into the bases and/or welded in.
  • Secured against vibrations by block anchors.
  • Connection chambers screwed on or welded on.
  • Pressure-resistant design of the collection chambers up to 100 bar.
  • Pipes with turbulators for highly viscous media.
